The Palmer House Hilton was recently named Redevelopment Project of the Year at the Chicago Commercial Real Estate Awards dinner. The program benefits the Greater Chicago Food Depository and recognizes overall achievement for the redevelopment of a building.
In addition, the Palmer House was awarded the 2009 Merit Award for Rehab Construction by the Chicago Building Congress which honors outstanding projects in the greater Chicagoland build during the past two years. The Palmer House also received the Silver Award by Building Design & Construction for their 26th Annual Reconstruction Awards.
The Palmer House Hilton was originally built in 1927. The $170 million restoration project transformed the 1.7 million square-foot hotel into a modern, luxury hotel. The renovation included: remodeled guest rooms and suites, new restaurant and club bar, new retail space, expanded fitness center and new full-service spa, expanded and updated meeting spaces and indoor valet parking.
