Pepper Construction Company of Ohio employees are making a difference in the lives of one Central Ohio family by participating in the Rosedale Project, the rebuilding of a home in a south side neighborhood.

The family, two adults and six children, were living in the enclosed front porch of their small (just under 600 sf) home.  They were repairing the home but discovered structural problems and soon found the expense and expertise required were beyond their abilities.  Winter came and because the house was without heat, they moved in with family in cramped living conditions.  The house repair came to a halt until others stepped forward.

Pepper Construction, its employees and their families, in conjunction with Paradigm Properties and several other construction contractors, have supported the project since early spring and have donated more than 50 hours to assist with the demolition and rough framing.  Pepper has played a direct role in the installation of floor joists and subfloor for a second floor addition, the rebuilding of the walls on the first floor and the addition of the front porch.  Also, Pepper employees have donated money to help support the project.

Work is expected to be completed on the Rosedale home by early September, so the family should be moved back into their updated, 1,200 square-foot home in time for the beginning of the school year.

“We are proud to have played such an instrumental role in the completion of this project, which is such a worthwhile cause,” said Paul Francois, Pepper Ohio’s president.  “I am proud that Pepper has been a major contributor to the project both in time and financial support.”
