Knowing that its future success and continued growth in Western markets hinged on three priorities — logistics, labor and location — IKEA needed a new warehouse facility that could offer efficiency, stability and value and all three of these critical areas. The 1,710,00-square-foot distribution facility features 31-foot clear height with conventional manual-pick forklift racking and 52-foot clear height required for IKEA’s automatic retrieval crane conveyer systems. The warehouse, along with a 15,000-square-foot office building, is the flagship structure in a master plan mixed-used development. It will serve all IKEA’s retail stores in the western United States.
