Located in the Short North arts district in downtown Columbus, Ohio, Klarna's 9,000-square-foot office space follows the current trend of open-concept, agile work environments. It includes unique features like the Swedish-made ceiling tile and light fixtures, which were hung in a pattern that adds interest to the room. All desks adjust to each person's position and height, whether sitting or standing. Its location in the Short North allows employees to live close and walk or bike to work, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and take a break at the neighborhood park. Pepper was able to accommodate an early client move-in of by phasing the completion of the space.

Project Stories

Self perform value

Klarna office under construction

Pepper’s self perform group installed the acoustic ceiling tile and light fixtures, which were imported from the company’s home country of Sweden. The eight-foot long fluorescent lights were arranged in a geometric pattern on the floor before installed above. The ceiling was a concealed grid with tongue-and-groove tile, requiring careful execution.
