Scot Pepper and Stan Pepper at MILA topping out

Last week I attended the topping out ceremony for MILA, a 41-story residential high-rise we are building for The John Buck Company at the corner of South Michigan and Lake. It was a significant event for us because while we've constructed other high-rise buildings and have a reputation for large, complex projects, surprisingly we've never built a high-rise in downtown Chicago. It's an important and exciting project for the city, and exciting for us to be part of it.

The launch of this blog is also a significant milestone at Pepper. We've been pretty good about showing what we can do – and that we can build any type of project. This blog will allow us to pull back the curtain to tell more of the story – who our clients are and what they're trying to accomplish. It also shows who we are and how we work – our people and the technology and methods we use to help our clients accomplish their goals.

You've seen our buildings, but it's time for you to see our people, their pride and the level of service we provide. Pepper is not just known for the buildings we're constructing but also for our people who do the work.

I hope you will come back often to see what we're up to and to share the progress we are making in our industry.
