The NeuroDiagnostic Institute and Advanced Treatment Center is the first state mental health facility to open in Indiana in more than five decades. The technologically advanced facility focuses on the precise diagnosis and assertive treatment for brain-based disorders, including acute and chronic mental illness, chronic addictions, intellectual and developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries and neuro-degenerative illnesses, such as Alzheimer's disease.

NDI is equipped with 159 beds and is prepared to serve 1,500 patients annually. In addition to getting more thorough brain imaging, genetic and psychological testing, patients will have access to a full complement of healthcare services provided at the adjoining Community Hospital East via two-story connector.

The 212,000-square-foot facility includes children units, adult units, an autism unit, classrooms and a rooftop playground.
