Lisle CUSD 202's commitment to their students' education is evident in the new two-story, 98,000-square-foot elementary school in Lisle, IL that serves pre-kindergarten through fifth-grade students. Designed with extensive community, staff and student input, a two-story Learning Center is located in the heart of the building and features a concrete grand staircase. The space includes 35 classrooms, a STEM lab, a band and music room, conference rooms and a variety of collaborative spaces for small-group teaching and studying. The café has a full-service kitchen and the 5,000-square-foot gymnasium doubles as a storm shelter. Outside, there are two new playgrounds as well as play fields, a new parking lot and site utility improvements.

The school incorporates several sustainable features, such as capitalizing on natural light by arranging the classrooms around the perimeter of the building and incorporating LED fixtures that include daylight harvesting and touchscreen controls in every room.  In addition, a variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system allows individual temperature control for personalized comfort in every room and a roof garden helps to reduce the school's carbon footprint.
