WGN Radio's new 17,000 s.f. studio and offices overlook Chicago from the 18th floor at 303 E Wacker. The space includes an open office area, five studios, a conference room and two pantries. Special acoustical glass walls and doors were installed to ensure that the proper STC rating was achieved. In addition, an air-handling unit was installed on the 18th floor, which is used to cool the 20 server racks and also cool the space full time. With half the space being a radio studio, Pepper needed to ensure that special acoustical engineering and considerations were used for proper soundproofing both inside and outside of the building.
