The Neuro Diagnostic Institute will be the first state mental health facility to open in Indiana in over six decades. The technologically advanced facility will focus on the precise diagnosis and assertive treatment for brain-based disorders, including acute and chronic mental illness, chronic addictions, intellectual and developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries and neuro-degenerative illnesses, such as Alzheimer's disease.

NDI will be equipped with 159 beds and will be able to serve 1,500 patients annually. In addition to getting more thorough brain imaging, genetic and psychological testing, patients will have access to a full complement of healthcare services provided at the adjoining Community Hospital East via two-story connector.
