The new Ascension St. Vincent Women and Infants Hospital serves northwest Indianapolis. The 278,500‑square‑foot, 109‑room facility has direct access to Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital and is the first in the state to offer couplet care, allowing high‑risk mothers and critically ill newborns to receive coordinated care under one roof.
Project highlights included a comprehensive preconstruction phase, work within an active health care campus, and extensive mechanical, electrical and plumbing coordination. Teams used virtual design and construction to support complex coordination and prefabrication efforts. The project was delivered through an Integrated Project Delivery contract, emphasizing collaboration among project partners.
Back to our roots
This project is uniquely symbolic and special to Pepper. Construction of the original St. Vincent campus in 1989 led to the foundation of our Indiana office. In the 1990s, we also oversaw construction of the adjacent Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital.
