Volunteers help build back spaces shaped by daily life and restore homeowner pride on National Rebuilding Day
Giving back is part of Pepper's commitment to the communities we serve. For the past three decades, in recognition of National Rebuilding Day, we've partnered with Rebuilding Together, a national nonprofit dedicated to making every homeowner feel supported, safe and cared for. Their mission aligns naturally with ours, and as builders and members of the communities that sustain us, we understand what it means to support a place someone calls home.
In Illinois our volunteer team showed up ready to work, backed by a generous tool donation from our equipment partner, 365 Equipment & Supply.
Outdoor teams handled:
- Landscaping with mulch, rocks and a flower planter
- Added a window flower box
- Installed aluminum drip edge and fascia on the garage
- Built new wood steps and joist hangers to reinforce the deck.
Inside, the team installed:
- Handrails on all staircases
- Peel-and-stick vinyl tile and grab bars in the bathroom
- Refreshed ceilings and kitchen walls.
Homeowner Ms. Green shared her appreciation of our Illinois team led by house captains, Kevin Erikson, Brian Hope and Kirk Beutke:
In Indianapolis, the team helped homes in the Near Northside community, near the Children's Museum. Their scope included a security door replacement, a new backyard storage shed, a safety rail around the porch, cabinet replacement and front porch landscaping.
None of this is possible without the volunteers who give their Saturday to revive someone else's home. Pepper is a home for everyone, and on days like these our commitment becomes action. Join our efforts and Rebuilding Together here.
