A new practice facility sparks the Fire
Most construction projects start with some clear goals. That was true for The Endeavor Health Chicago Fire Performance Center. The difference is that for this project, many of the goals were actual soccer nets, as the new 51,600-square-foot Center is home to the Chicago Fire Football Club. It was built to serve every level of the club, from the First Team pros to the young up-and-coming Academy players. The facility is designed to support training, recovery, coaching, collaboration and long-term growth for the franchise and the players both on and off the field.
Playing The Fields
Creating these pitches took precision and dedication. Crews installed nearly 9,000 cubic yards of a sand-peat mix for the root zone, laid 5.5 acres of sod within 24 hours of harvest and ran turf-stitching machines around the clock for 22 days. The irrigation system includes 144 sprinkler heads across 44 zones.
No direct access to power or water
During construction, crews faced challenges—such as working without power, sewer or water access for the entire project. Every drop of water used on-site was delivered by flatbed truck, with irrigation of the pitches taking top priority. Temporary power was routed in to support evening practices, while careful planning allowed for structural modifications and phased plumbing work to be completed just in time for move-in.
With extensive team collaboration and creative logistics, the result is a high-scoring, world-class facility that sets the stage for Chicago Fire’s next chapter of excellence and development.
