A Night at the Races event raises enough funds to provide Junior Achievement programs for more than 4,100 central Ohio children

Pepper Construction was joined by over 30 industry partners as sponsors of the 2021 A Night at the Races event benefitting Junior Achievement of Central Ohio (JA).

The live event featured an evening of virtual horse racing presented by Black Diamond Casino Events. Horse betting was offered to earn raffle tickets for the chance to win prizes like a Yeti Cooler, Apple Airpods or an Apple Watch; along with a featured silent auction boasting items such as a one-week condo rental in Longboat Key, Florida, golf foursomes, gift packages from local eateries and more.

Since its inception, this event has raised enough funds to help more than 22,000 students participate in Junior Achievement programs. The programs give young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future and make smart academic and economic choices.

"The support of our sponsors and the dedication of our team is what makes this event such a success," said Paul Francois, President of Pepper Ohio. "A special thanks to everyone for making this such an impactful event despite the challenges the past year presented!  We are humbled to be a part of such an influential movement benefitting the youth of central Ohio."

JA recognizes the importance of developing young people's ability to succeed both professionally and personally. Their programs inspire and prepare students through education about workforce development, entrepreneurship and financial literacy.  Last year, JA of Central Ohio’s programs served more than 26,000 elementary, middle and high school students across nearly 200 central Ohio schools.

"On behalf of more than 26,000 central Ohio students in our community who will be better prepared for success in their careers thanks to the support provided by this event, we are very grateful!" said Mike Davis, President of Junior Achievement of Central Ohio.
