With more than 25 years of experience in the Chicago construction market and a history of managing over $1 billion in concrete shell construction, Scott Kennedy leads Pepper Construction's Self-Performed Labor Group in Illinois. His expertise includes the full integration of BIM into the logistic planning, estimating, detailing, coordinating, layout and construction process to bring efficiencies to our work.
Scott holds a BSAS Architecture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He holds a City of Chicago Department of Buildings - Mason Contracting License, and he is a member of the American Concrete Institute (ACI), Post-Tension Institute (PTI), Midwest Wall and Ceiling Contractors (MWCC) and Finishing Contractors Association of Illinois. Scott leads PTI Certification Training - Unbonded Post-Tensioning (PT), OSHA 30-Hour Outreach Training and BIM Tekla Structures Basic & Advanced Training.
Since joining Pepper in 1998, Mick has managed more than $1 billion of construction projects in almost every market the company serves - including commercial office, residential, mixed-use and interior build-outs. Mick appreciates collaborative delivery methods, such as design-assist, because he believes they are better suited to deliver a cost-effective end product that exceeds the owner’s expectations.
Mick holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Construction Management from Purdue University and an ASHE Healthcare Construction certificate, and he is a LEED AP. In addition to his role at Pepper Construction, he guest lectures at Purdue University and has served on the Executive Advisory Committee for their Construction Management Program. Mick is also a former board member of the ACE Tech High School board of directors.
As vice president, Shawn oversees project teams, providing overall project direction through preconstruction and construction. He specializes in high rise construction including residential, office buildings, hotels and healthcare. Shawn coordinates the construction process in a way that produces a quality project within the project budget and schedule constraints while making the process as enjoyable and painless for the client as possible.
Shawn has 21 years of construction experience, and nearly all of that has been with Pepper. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering from Iowa State University and a Master of Business Administration from DePaul University. He also holds an ASHE Healthcare Construction certificate.
