Columbus, Ohio — December 18, 2020

The annual Pepper Construction holiday food drive held November 16 through December 16, collected enough food to provide 90,000 meals to those in need in central Ohio. This year's food drive marks the 14th consecutive year that the combined efforts of Pepper Construction and our industry partners have resulted in the collection of nearly 700,000 meals donated to the Mid-Ohio Food Collective.  That is enough meals to feed more than 45 people for each of those 14-years!

“With the need for nutritious food greater than ever this year, we are humbled to provide support to our neighbors across central Ohio,” said President Paul Francois.

Additionally, Pepper volunteered for the Mid-Ohio Food Collective during Double Donation Day on December 16 - in partnership with local news stations covering the event. On Double Donation Day, matching funds are provided through community sponsors providing twice as many meals for central Ohio.

“I have had the pleasure of leading our holiday food drive for the past five years. Each year, I am astounded by the impressive measure of community support shown by our team and industry partners,” said Project Manager Tanner Nelson. “Helping others is deeply rooted in our culture. I’m proud to witness selfless acts of kindness - especially during such challenging times for our society.”

Pepper Construction has organized food drives since 2006.  This spirit of giving began after two Pepper employees heard on the radio there was a food shortage at the Mid-Ohio Food Collective. With limited resources and a small list of industry partners, the Dublin team placed boxes on each floor of their office building. That year, over 3,600 meals were donated to the foodbank. Since then, the food drive has grown abundantly each year, getting us one step closer to helping end hunger in our community.
