Safety, About Pepper

I have been very proud to witness the evolving importance Pepper Ohio has placed on establishing a safety program and culture that puts safety above all other jobsite priorities. Their hard work is paying off with Pepper Ohio receiving two prestigious safety awards during this past year, including the Safety Council of Greater Columbus (SCGC) Safety Award and the Builders Exchange of Central Ohio Safety Achievement Award.

In addition to these two awards, Pepper Ohio also has two pending nominations for the Allied Construction Industries (ACI) 2015 Safe Employee Award. These awards and nominations are proof that the entire Pepper team is on the right track toward setting the highest safety standards on every Pepper jobsite - and is challenging our local industry to follow.

I am excited to see what our future holds with the safety processes we have set in place, including planning, implementation, and measurement. This three-step process promotes an open and proactive approach on the jobsite, catching safety issues before they occur. Pepper Ohio has also set a goal of capturing as many near-miss events as possible. By encouraging transparent reporting of these events, we will improve procedures and conditions and prevent incidents. With the implementation of these processes and the use of various technologies, I believe we have the chance to truly be an industry leader in providing a safe working environment. After a very successful 2015, I am excited to see what safety accomplishments we can achieve in 2016.
