A six-story, senior-care campus is being constructed on the site of the former Blessed Virgin of Pompeii church and school. The site will include a newly constructed St. Rita Church that is planned to have 3,600 square feet on the first floor and a lower-level fellowship hall with a servicing kitchen. An outdoor meditation garden will facilitate contemplation and small group worship.
The senior care center will offer a direct physical connection to the church. Planned to have 138,000 square feet, St. Rita Square will feature a 103 unit (107 bed) age-restricted senior living community offering care continuum that includes 29 independent living apartments, 28 assisted living apartments and 26 memory care units (30 beds). Indoor and outdoor concierge amenities will be available with common areas that enrich the lives of the residents. The main building will also offer two retail suites that are planned to include 2,800 square feet, as well as internal parking for 44 cars and both internal and external bike parking.
The building’s design is inspired by the Mediterranean architecture of the former Blessed Virgin of Pompeii Church, which will help to create a strong, sentimental connection to the surrounding community.
